1. Use an antidetect browser with a proxy
We recommend using an antidetect browser to sign in to and work with the account. At SmartShop, we use Octo Browser, but you can choose another option from our partner catalog.
If you sign in from your own device, such as your personal Mac, you create a connection between the account and that device. If the device was previously used with a terminated account or an account with a negative history, this may create additional risks when working with the new account.
We also recommend using a proxy. You can use the built-in proxies in Octo Browser. If you use another antidetect browser, you can connect a proxy purchased separately. The location of your connection does not always have to match the account’s country. What matters more is keeping the connection stable and avoiding a different country every time you sign in. If you are looking for a proxy provider, you can choose one from our partner catalog.
2. Do not sign in from personal or previously used devices
Some users immediately sign in to the account through the Apple Developer app on their Mac or iPhone. We strongly advise against this: the device becomes linked to the account, and its previous history may create additional risks.
This applies to signing in to iCloud and the Apple Developer app, adding the account to TestFlight, and signing in through Xcode. An alternative is to purchase a new device that has never been used with other accounts.
3. Do not add other users to the account
Inviting an additional user may seem safe because the account is registered to someone else. However, the invited user also brings a connection to their devices and their history. If those devices or accounts were previously used with terminated accounts, you may create risks for your account as well.
If another person needs access, an alternative may be a separate user with no history of working with other accounts or previously used devices. Another option is to work from a new user account created on a newly purchased device.
4. Do not build and publish the app through Xcode on your own device
This point often raises questions. We recommend preparing the project for publication, checking its files, removing unwanted metadata, then building the app through CI/CD and submitting the finished build to App Store Connect from there — without uploading it directly through Xcode on your own device.
